What is Emmett?
Emmett is a safe, gentle muscle release therapy that is used to address pain and discomfort while improving movement restriction in areas such as the knees, hips, neck, shoulders and back.
The technique involves gentle pressure at specific points which activates the release of long-held muscle restrictions and encourages the body to self correct.
It is a simple but powerful technique and the relief it provides is so immediate that you can usually feel results by the end of your appointment.
Emmett provides natural pain relief and can help problems in the back, neck, shoulder, hips and knees and improve body symmetry, balance and alignment.
The technique, founded by Ross Emmett, arrived in the UK from Australia in 2007 and so is relatively unknown, however its effectiveness is rapidly gaining respect among healthcare professionals such as Doctors, Osteopaths, Chiropractors, as well as Complementary Therapists.
What happens during a treatment?
Your treatment can take place while sitting, standing or lying down, according to your requirements and comfort level, and I can treat either directly on the skin or through light clothing.
During our appointment I assess which areas of your body are affected and use a combination of light finger pressure and 'switches' at specific points within muscles to immediately release and relax them. By the end of the treatment most clients feel much looser, more flexible and more relaxed.
Most clients usually feel changes even before the end of the first appointment.
Please note that this technique may be used as a stand-alone therapy or incorporated into a Bowen treatment. The two therapies combine perfectly.
